eHealth Innovations Partnership Program
Calling all health care innovation communities!

The opportunity

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) eHealth Innovations Partnership Program (eHIPP) is recruiting health care innovation communities!

eHIPP is a collaborative funding program designed to create a new generation of cost-effective patient and population-centred health care by codeveloping innovative ehealth solutions in partnership with Canadian technology companies that have the potential to deliver real-world health care value.

eHIPP will support large-scale pragmatic trials in “health care innovation community test beds,” which are local/regional health care organizations or communities that have the capacity and interest to integrate ehealth innovations into real-world service delivery (e.g. hospitals, communities, school boards and postsecondary institutions).

What kind of organizations/communities would benefit most?

Health care innovation communities that wish to provide novel ehealth-enabled health care programs for:

  • early identification of and intervention for youth with mental health conditions; or
  • support for seniors with complex care needs in their homes.

Health care innovation communities could be set in:

  • municipalities
  • community-hospital/home networks
  • academic health care centres
  • regional health authorities
  • college/university campuses

Who is eligible?

Health care innovation communities that include the following:

  • a scientific lead (an independent researcher);
  • a clinical lead (a health care delivery professional);
  • a decision maker to support adoption and scaleup of ehealth-enabled innovation services;
  • end-users such as patients, families, caregivers and health professionals; and
  • IT infrastructure to support the integration of ehealth solutions.

How to participate

  • Attend a researcher-industry–health care innovation community partnership workshop in fall 2014 or winter 2015.
  • Join our webinar sessions, to be run regularly in fall 2014 and winter 2015.
  • Submit an application in collaboration with appropriate industry partners by June 2015.
